Let It Snow!

Part of our job as managers of the apartments of where we live is to keep the sidewalks cleared of snow.  What a job!  Last year had lots of little snow falls and it looks like it will be the same this year.  This week we have shoveled twice and it looks like many more times in the next week!  Josh wasn't sure about the snow, but the longer we were out there, the more he liked it.  It takes a while to shovel the snow, but I always think that a new snow fall is so beautiful.  Let it snow!

Yum Yum Yum!

Josh always wants to feed himself, so I say go for it!  I gave him some yogurt and a spoon, and hopefully he got some inside of him.  He didn't use the spoon- he just kept it in his left hand.  He preferred scooping the yogurt in his right hand and trying to get it in his mouth.  It went everywhere but it kept him entertained for a while!  Yum, yum yum!

You better not pout, you better not cry...

We went to see Santa, and as the picture obviously shows, Joshua did not like him!  As soon as I set him down, he started crying.  I found it quite funny and I thought that we snapped this picture at the perfect time.  Josh is usually so happy, so I'm sure Santa will forgive him for not liking to sit on his lap and hopefully still bring him a present!

Fun Pictures

The other night, we had my brother take some pictures of us.  I love the one of Josh walking, swinging his arm.  His left one is always swinging like crazy and the right one stays so still.  It's so cute!  My brother can get Josh to smile and laugh so good.  They are good buddies!  Josh had lots of fun with him.

60th Wedding Anniversary

Congratulations to Grandpa Glenn and Grandma Joyce for the wonderful 60 years together.  We had a party to celebrate!   They starred in the Newlywed Game and had delicious cake!  They enjoyed dancing and we all had a fun with all the family there!

Pumpkin Time

We went to Logan for a couple of days and were so excited that it was the pumpkin walk!  We loved going to the pumpkin walk when we lived up there.  There are lots of different scenes all made with pumpkins, and then carved pumpkins line the sidewalks.  This scene is of a farmer and his animals.  You can see that his face is a pumpkin which has been painted.
We were able to hang out with Cliff's brother and his wife.  We loved spending time with them and had a great time!
This was my favorite scene at the pumpkin walk.  It's Noah's Ark.  They had every animal there made out of pumpkins and gourds.  You can see in the picture elephants, giraffes, raccoons, bears, pigs, penguins, monkeys, caterpillars, frogs, panda bears, lion, birds, and tigers.  They also had crocodiles, lady bugs, mice, swan, and a lot of others all made of pumpkins!

We went with my mom, Annie, Alison, and Landon to the pumpkin patch.  Josh loves the pumpkins!  He had fun touching them and trying to pick them up.  He hardly could pick the little one up that is right underneath him.  He loved going on the ride behind the tractor too!

Go Cougars!

It's time to party when BYU has a football game!  We have been having tailgate parties before everyone heads off to the stadium.  It has been fun and it's amazing how fast the food disappears!  Go Cougars!!!

Deer Hunt

Cliff got to go on the deer hunt this year.  He had a great time with all the boys, even though they came home empty handed.

Fishlake and Conference

We went to Fishlake over Conference weekend.  It was beautiful!  The leaves were yellow, red and orange, and it snowed on Saturday.  Cliff took some pictures of the leaves and mountains and we got some really pretty shots.  I love that you can see the colored leaves of the aspens, the snow covered pine trees and the blue sky!

One of our favorite messages of conference was Elder Joseph B Wirthlin's talk.  It seems like everyday we say, "Come what may and love it" and we try to laugh instead of getting flustered.  We've said it about our truck when it had problems, Josh throwing plates to the floor and seeing it shatter into many pieces, and we as daily clean him up after gags his food up.

Thanksgiving Point Barn

We went to Thanksgiving Point with Alison and Landon.  Josh was in his element!  He loved all the animals!  He fed them and jabbered to them and was excited the whole time we were there.  He was not afraid at all to feed the animals some corn and he smiled the whole time he rode on the ponies (except when I took his picture)!

Silly Boy

Josh has a thing about resting on his head when he is in the process of standing up.  It's like he needs to rest for a minute.  He thinks it's a game- he sometimes lifts his hands up and waves them in the air.  We think it's so funny!
The other night, we heard some little noises and no jabber from a little boy.  When we found Josh, he had tasted all the licorice in the bag and thrown them on the floor.  When we came in, he said, "Mmmm," and offered us a piece!

Happy September!

We haven't posted for a while, so I thought I would write a quick update. Since August, Cliff started school. He and the others in his program are all having senioritis for 2nd year Master students. Nobody wants to do their homework or go to class. I keep telling him only 8 more months! Joshua is walking all over the place, and you can tell from his forehead. It always has a bruise on it! He loves to be outside and he loves to sit in the driver's seat of the car make car noises. The car is usually where we head to if we are outside, but then he cries if he has to sit in his car seat. He has turned into a big mama's boy and cries and pouts everytime I leave him. I started playing in the Utah Valley Symphony again and when I went to rehearsal, Cliff said that Josh would put his head against the front door and whine and say "Ma ma ma ma." We just laugh because we think he is so cute! Let see, out computer broke and we have to get a new one, so we might not be posting pictures for a while. Other than that, we are enjoying life and laughing everyday about how cute our son is!

Happy Birthday!

We had a big birthday party for Josh. It was fun to have some of our family come and celebrate with us. Josh loves his cousins and aunts and uncles and was glad that some of them came. We couldn't get him to wear his party hat though!
We had fun making this cake. Cliff was in charge of the wheels and the lights, and I was worried we wouldn't have any wheels left for the car! Josh didn't seem to impressed with all of our hard work!
It's amazing how fast one year goes by! Joshua had his first birthday! Josh wasn't sure what to do with the cake. He liked the cake better when grandma fed it to him with some ice cream. Landon knew exactly what to do with the cake and enjoyed digging into it!

Pioneer Day

We went to Kanosh for the 24th and had a great time with Cliff's family. Everyone was there, which only happens once a year, so we really enjoyed our time with everyone!
Josh and Connor were devouring Grandma's popsicle. They both couldn't wait for a bite!
We tried to get a picture of all the cousins, which with 7 little kids, was quite a task. I'm not sure if we got one when everyone was smiling and fingers were not in someone's mouth, but they are really cute even if we didn't get a perfect picture!

Lake Powell

We went to Lake Powell for a few days with our family. It was sunny the whole time and the water was the perfect temperature. The red rocks are beautiful and the sunsets were amazing! Our Lake Powell favorites are relaxing in the water, playing Scrabble, showering off the end of the house boat, eating delicious food, and being with all of our family. We sure had a great time!

Fourth of July

We went to Richfield for the 4th of July. Josh had lots of fun going on wagon rides, playing with the dog, and playing with Landon. We saw lots of our friends and enjoyed being with family. Josh loved the fireworks on the night of the fourth. He kept oohing, awing, and clapping through the whole production.

Below are two pictures of the hot air balloon festival that they do in Provo over the 4th of July. Jaquel was staying with us for a few days, and that's her with Cliff and Josh . There are about 20 hot air balloons that all inflate and then they take off. They have a competition to see who can land back at the same field and then they try to pop smaller balloons that are in the sky. Our favorite balloon was the piggy bank, which you can see in both pictures. It was an early morning for us, especially Josh as we woke him up at 6:00 am and dragged him with us, but we were all glad that we went and had a great time!
Josh fell asleep during the parade in Richfield on the 4th. Doesn't that look comfortable! The other picture is during the children's parade. I'm pulling the wagon, which Landon and our friend Kayson is riding in. Andrew is carrying Josh because Kayson was too tired to walk. By the time we made it to the park, Kayson was asleep. We had a lot of tired little boys!

Family Fun at the Whatcott Reunion

Last weekend we went to the Whatcott Family Reunion. It was up Kanosh Canyon and we had a great time! Josh absolutely loved his cousin's wagon. He grinned, clapped, waved, and rocked the whole time he was riding in it! Cliff had fun at the skeet shoot and I enjoyed the washer tournament! It's a really fun game that's like a bean bag toss, but you throw washers and try to throw them into one of three holes. I don't think you can practice and get any better at it, so hopefully next year we will have more luck on our side! We had a great time visiting with all the family and being with everyone!

Concert Time

One of Josh's favorite things to do is to serenade us on the piano. He walks up and down the piano playing all the keys. He loves the noise that it make. After he's finished, he will always look to get applause. Then he grins! I love it!

Memorial Day at Lake Powell

We went to Lake Powell for Memorial Day
weekend. We had a great time! The first picture was taken in front of the dam. It is really amazing to see. It's huge and would have to be very strong to hold all that water in Lake Powell.
They said the lake is rising 10 inches a day! That's a lot of water! The other pictures were on our boat rides up some canyons. The canyons were beautiful and the red cliffs seemed to tower over us. Notice that everyone is wearing a hoodie! It was really cold the whole weekend. Only four people out of eleven got in the water the whole time we were there. The sun was hidden all weekend and it rained part of the time. But we had a great time playing games, watching movies, and just being together!

Mother's Day Memory

So, Mother's Day this year was definitely a memory maker. It was my first mother's day and I had planned one of my favorite dinners and I was hoping to go for a walk after church. But things don't always go as planned! I opened the door into my apartment after church and heard water dripping and as I took Josh to his bedroom, I gushed through a big puddle of water. After I came out from putting Josh down, I found the dishwater full of water and the kitchen sink full of disgusting water. I got all my old towels and cleaned up the floor and waited until Cliff got home from Church. He got home around 5:00 pm, and then, we tried to fix the problem!

Cliff got this cool gun that shoots air into the pipes. We tried that a few times and Cliff got drenched because the water shot back at him. Then the last time we tried, we heard a bang and out of our cupboard came black, mucky, smelly water. We had a mess everywhere. It was awful! After an hour of trying to fix it we finally called the rooter. He worked for an hour and a half and finally fixed it! I kept telling him I was so sorry to make him come on Mother's Day and to tell his wife that I was very sorry! He was very nice to come and work so long. By 9 pm, we had water draining again and by 10 pm, we had bleached everything that had been touched by that gross water!

So instead of enjoying our delicious meal, we ate peanut butter sandwiches, milk, and oranges for our Mother's Day dinner as we sat in an apartment full of soaked up towels, black water, and sink full of muck. Life never brings what we expects, but I guess that is why it is so fun and adventurous! I'm sure we will laugh about this for some time!

Favorite Pal

Josh's favorite pal is his dad! They have so much fun together! They are always noisy- grunting and laughing and being boys. Obviously, they get messy when Cliff feeds Josh, but he is good at cleaning him up!

Landon's Birthday Party

Josh had fun at Landon's birthday party! He loved going for a wagon ride and going down the slide! Happy Birthday Landon!
Oh, and good job on the cake Ali- it was so cute! Too bad I don't have a picture!
